The Old Town San Diego Sherrif

Ending Parade

My friend Stephanie called me the other day and invited me and Matthew to the Mormon Batallion Commemoration in Old Town San Diego. It was filled with fun packed booths for the kids to create and imagine! We made our own rolls over hot coals, then topped them with fresh churrned butter. Then we went to make Matthew very own "male" pioneer doll, which recieved his official name "little Matthew". Then we watched a parade of children following the leader who was patting his drum to a marching rhythm. We had such a great time, we didn't want to leave. So we walked up to the Mormon Battalion building in hopes to learn more. Unfortunately they knocked it down, and according to the Ranger, are rebuilding it to have a more "old town" feel. We will be excited to see it when its finished!

It looks like you had a lot of fun. There seems to be so much to do in San Diego. We are looking forward to visiting you there in the fall. Matthew is such a handsome boy - I hope he gets better soon.
Matthew is getting SO big. What a great activity!!
