Any Suggestions?

Ever since I had little Matthew, I've been getting these MAD migraines. Sometimes its once a month, others its 3/wk. They are the most excrutiating painful headaches I've ever had. It stinks being a mom when your head is pounding! Any suggestions?

Steph, I feel your pain...literally. If it is a true migraine, go to your doctor and get some drugs. There are prescription meds that work wonders for most people (most of them make me really sick so I can't take them). Or you can take 2 Excedrin Migraine with a LARGE Mt. Dew and take a nap in a dark room when Matthew naps. They are probably hormone related. Sorry for the pain, I know how much it stinks.

Hey Steph, I go through those too. I think mine are from being sleep deprived and/or hormones. I try to relax and sleep more, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Once I had a headache for 10 days that I couldn't shake. Finally a friend did some pressure points on my head...and it worked. All my heads are gone since that. I hope this helps.

Imitrex...the shot, not the pill. Works fantastic. Talk to your doctor, but it's the only thing that worked for mine. They used to knock me out for 3-4 days at a time. Without Imitrex my life would have been awful...

Nice one Allison. No suggestions other than talk to your doctor. Sorry you have to go through these, not fun at all.

Ok, this is a long shot and I really have no clue, but I read in a magazine (First) this little home remedy for "pounding headaches" It said this: " use a firm, circular motion to massage the web of skin between the base of your thumb and forefinger. Switch hands after several minutes. Trigerint this acupressure point, called LIG4, is the best way to beat tension headaches because LIG4 is linked to the areas in the brain where the pain originates."

This may seem like a lame suggestion - but if youre looking for over-the-counter... Excedrin is the best. It is the most hard-core-migrane-remover ever! Seriously, I can only handle half of one. If I take a whole pill I am jittery. It may be worth a shot.

Oh! - what day next week will work for you and Dave? Tues?Wed?Thur?

Stephanie,

I'm a massage Therapist and I would suggest to get a massage or try having your neck aggusted by a chiroperactor. When you are pregnant your boby produses a chemical into all of your joinst to help them move better and other reasons. If there was something out of place when you body stop making this chemical then you could have pain. It sound like you have a vertabra out of place. Which means the muscales of the head that run from your forhead to the neck came be pulled to tight or in the wrong direction. Try having Davi give you a neck massage and do some sterching to see if that helps. If you still have pain I would go see a dr. If you have questions and want to talk to me, Aunt Eve (your mother in law) has my number you cen get it from her.
